In the afternoon - departure of buses to Kutná Hora, Konopiště, Poděbrady, Mělník approx. at 13:30
(Kutná hora - the visit of the town-see below, Konopiště - the visit of the castle and decorative castle garden, Poděbrady - see below, Mělník - the visit of the castle and local exhibition of the viniculture)
In the evening - the medieval dinner in Dřevčice (estimated time of return: approx. at 23.00). Participants who want to visit only the dinner will be transported to the citadel by a special bus.

Lesser Town, Charles Bridge (Half day walking tour with a guide. Minimum 15 persons)
Tuesday July 31, 2001 (morning)
The Lesser Town is a quarter of Praha with beautiful baroque churches and palaces. (St. Nicholas' Church is the most significant historical building of the period called Prague Baroque). Charles Bridge was founded in 1357. It is the oldest bridge in Prague, the statues and groups of statues are mostly from 18th century. The well-known are works of Matthias Braun and Ferdinand Maximillian Brokoff.


Prague Castle (Half day tour with a guide. Minimum 15 persons.)
Wednesday, August 1, 2001 (afternoon)
Prague Castle is the most important cultural monument of Prague and of the Czech Republic. Since the beginning a residence of the Bohemian princes and kings, after 1918 of the President of the Republic. During the tour you will see for example the Golden Gate, St. Vitus Cathedral.


Jewish Quarter, Ungelt (Half-day walking tour with a guide. Minimum 15 persons.)
Thursday August 2, 2001 (morning)
During this walking tour you will see the Jewish Town Quarter that survived the holocaust, visit some of the surviving synagogues, see the Kafka's house, Old Jewish Cemetery and reach the Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock and the gothic Church of Our Lady before Teyn.


Poděbrady (Half-day tour with a guide. Minimum 15 persons)
Wednesday, August 1, 2001 (morning)
A famous Czech spa known as the birthplace of George of Poděbrady, the only Husite King of Bohemia. Visit of a chateau and of the Bohemia Crystal glass factory with a glass sample exhibition with a possibility to buy Bohemia lead glass products.


Kutná Hora (Whole-day tour with a guide. Minimum 15 persons.)
Thursday, August 2, 2001 (whole day)
The town of Kutná Hora was founded in the late 13th century close to the ample silver ore deposits. In the local royal mint, the Bohemian (Prague) Groschen started to be coined in as early as in 1300. A number of Gothic and Baroque houses, gorgeous Late-Gothic cathedral of St. Barbara and a Baroque, former Jesuit college has been preserved from this time. The town was registered in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1995.

Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle
Formerly a Gothic castle, it was entirely rebuilt in the Windsor style in 1840-1871. The chateau has 140 chambers, 11 towers and bastions and two court-yards. Here are amassed superb collections of gobelins, paintings, carved furniture, glass, china and collections of historical arms. The inseparable part of the chateau is the Mikoláš Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, which is within the premises of the former chateau's riding-hall.


Český Krumlov
The famous town listed by UNESCO as a world historic site in 1992, once the seat of the noble families of Vítkovec, Rosenberg, Eggenberg and Schwarzenberg. The Český Krumlov state chateau and castle is the second-largest castle complex in the Czech Republic after that of Prague.


České Budějovice
České Budějovice, a historical town of 100.000 inhabitants, founded in 1265, is the cultural and administrative centre of South Bohemia. It is located about 150 km south of Prague. The most beautiful area of the town is the monumental square-shaped square named after the King Přemysl Otakar II, lined with Gothic, Baroque and Classical buildings with a completely preserved system of arcades all around. In the centre of the square, there is the Baroque fountain with the statue of Samson, which dates back to the 1720.

  1. Complete the "Accommodation & Reservation Form" and return to our address by e-mail or fax or use this online version (or just let us know your requirements by e-mail: name, address, phone, fax, data of your arrival, departure, ...).
  2. We will send you the payment form (= confirmation) according your order.
  3. The payments will be possible by bank transfer, by credit cards, by cheques.
  4. Participants travelling from the Linz-Conference who want to take part only in the weekend trip, may complete the "Weekend in South Bohemia" form and can pay directly now (not later than May 1, 2001).

CANCELLATIONS

Notification of all cancellations must be sent in writing to the ICARIS Ltd., Conference Management. Cancellation of the hotel booking until June 25, 2001 will receive a 100% refunding (less an administration charge of USD 50), cancellations after June 25, 2001 will receive a 50% refunding, after July 8, 2001 will not receive a refund.
